Cynthia

Cynthia Jacobson is first and foremost a wife and mother of two daughters. A graduate of the Air Force Academy, she was a 5 time NCAA All-American gymnast. She served 5 years in the Air Force as a communications and computer officer in Europe and the United States. Following her military career, Cynthia coached, managed and developed programs for a highly successful gymnastics center in Sacramento CA. Since moving to the East Coast, she has developed and run gymnastics programs and recreational camps. In addition to her athletic buisness activities, Cynthia also took up figure skating as an adult and has since earned a national title at the 2001 U.S. Adult National Championships

Cynthia first came to Pilates as a student and studied for 3 years at BodyMind Balance before becoming an instructor in 2002. She is currently a Senior Instructor at BodyMind Balance who is certified as a STOTT Pilates instructor in Mat and Reformer. She has extensive experience working with competitive athletes, people recovering from injuries, those who have chronic conditions and students at all levels of skill.

Cynthia believes that working with clients at BodyMind Balance and passing on the invaluable knowledge and health benefits of Pilates is a privilege and a joy.

 

 

Ray

 

Ray Douglass is a Senior instructor at BodyMind Balance. She is a fully certified STOTT Pilates instructor having completed certifications in mat and advanced mat, reformer, cadillac and advanced cadillac, chair, and ladder barrel. She has completed TRX Suspension Exercise training and is a certified Z-Health® Movement Re-education Specialist (R). She has taught in Massachusetts and Colorado. Ray supervises our programs for colleges, universities.

Ray is well known as a creative teacher who works with a wide range of clients including beginners, teens and seniors, people with physical challenges and injuries, elite athletes, women who are pregnant or post-partum and those who have experienced cancer.

 

 

Peter

Peter Gibbs discovered Pilates in 2000 while seeking solutions to chronic back pain, a result of years of overuse as a Tennis Pro. Pilates made a profound difference. He was so impressed by the benefits for himself and others whom he observed that he and his wife Lisa purchased BodyMind Balance Pilates Studio in 2005. Peter has trained in both Stott Pilates and Peak Pilates systems and is a certified Z-Health® Exercise Therapy Specialist (R,I,S,T & 9S). He has an appreciation for the benefits of mind body approaches to fitness for people of all ages and fitness levels. Peter believes that by using Pilates, TRX, Yoga and Z-Health movement coaching everyone can improve mobility, reduce pain and enhance physical performance for any activity. He has completed TRX Suspension Exercise instructor training and has developed a variety of creative fun TRX programs.

Peter is also a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, providing clinical supervision and training for professionals and maintaining a clinical consulting practice. He has practiced and taught meditation and stress management techniques for more than 20 years and has implemented Corporate Wellness programming through BodyMind Balance.

Teresa

Teresa Iapalucci has more than 17 years health and fitness experience as a fitness program director, manager, instructor, coach and personal trainer. She enthusiastically approaches wellness with the perspective that body and mind function as an integrated whole. She believes appropriate and enjoyable exercise opportunities await each individual.

Teresa is a registered yoga instructor (RYT 200) with the Yoga Alliance and holds certifications as a Stott Pilates instructor, ACE personal trainer, Johnny G. spinning instructor and AFFA group exercise instructor. She also holds a Masters Degree in Social Work from Simmons College and is a licensed clinical social worker.

Anita

Anita Droby is a teacher at heart, with a BS in Elementary Education and 30 years of teaching and private tutoring.  She has combined her love of Pilates with her passion for teaching and brings this enthusiasm to her classes. As an LMT, she is certified in Pregnancy and Baby Massage, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Sports, Deep Tissue and Seated Massage as well as Acupressure and Myofascial Release.  She is a Certified Reflexologist (CR) for Foot, Hand and Body Reflexology. 

Anita is currently working towards her Masters level in Reflexology.  She believes in the body's unparalleled ability to heal itself given the right stimulation thru nutrition, complimentary medicine, exercise and the integration of mind and body. 

Brenna

Brenna Miller is a yoga instructor and a dedicated student of body movement therapy. Through her love of   yoga, Brenna has studied Hatha Yoga, Meridian Yoga, Thai Body Work and Pilates. Currently, she is working toward a Structural Therapy Certification from Rasamaya, including a 500 hour yoga certification and a Level  1 Pilates Certification. Brenna hopes to bring a peaceful sense of wellbeing to her students. Namaste!

 

 

 

 

 

Dyan

Rita

 

Dyan Murphy holds a B.S. in Exercise Science and a M.Ed. in Health Promotion and has taught movement since 1991. Currently a Pilates and Yoga instructor, Dyan enjoys helping people restore their natural pain free alignment through a combination of Pilates and Yoga.

Dyan has extensive certifications including: STOTT Pilates Mat and Reformer, Anusara Yoga, Kripalu Yoga, ACSM-Health Fitness Instructor, AFAA Group Exercise Instructor, ACE Personal Trainer, Spinning/Cycling Instructor

 

 

 

Tamara

Tamara Chiarizio's background includes years of experience as personal trainer, focusing on aerobics and weight training. Once she experienced the healing essence of yoga practice, she embraced yoga and became a certified Hatha Yoga teacher through Central Mass Yoga. Tamara’s goal as a yoga teacher is to share this uplifting mind, body and soul connection with others. You too can embrace this life-changing gift.  Tamara is currently pursuing a degree in complementary health studies.
