Cynthia

Cynthia Jacobson is first and foremost a wife and mother of two daughters. A graduate of the Air Force Academy, she was a 5 time NCAA All-American gymnast. She served 5 years in the Air Force as a communications and computer officer in Europe and the United States. Following her military career, Cynthia coached, managed and developed programs for a highly successful gymnastics center in Sacramento CA. Since moving to the East Coast, she has developed and run gymnastics programs and recreational camps. In addition to her athletic buisness activities, Cynthia also took up figure skating as an adult and has since earned a national title at the 2001 U.S. Adult National Championships

Cynthia first came to Pilates as a student and studied for 3 years at BodyMind Balance before becoming an instructor in 2002. She is currently a Senior Instructor at BodyMind Balance who is certified as a STOTT Pilates instructor in Mat and Reformer. She has extensive experience working with competitive athletes, people recovering from injuries and those who have chronic conditions and students at all levels of skill.

Cynthia believes that working with clients at BodyMind Balance and passing on the invaluable knowledge and health benefits of Pilates is a privilege and a joy.

 

Ray

 

Ray Douglass is a senior intructor at BodyMind Balance. She is a fully certified STOTT Pilates instructor having completed certifications in mat and advanced mat, reformer, cadillac and advanced cadillac, chair, and ladder barrel. She has taught in Massachusetts and Colorado. Ray currently teaches and supervises our programs for colleges, universities and corporations.

Ray is well known as a creative teacher who works with a wide range of clients including beginners, teens and seniors, people with physical challenges and injuries, elite atheletes, women who are pregnant or post partum and those who have experienced cancer.

 

 

Dyan

Rita

 

Dyan Murphy holds a B.S. in Exercise Science and a M.Ed. in Health Promotion and has taught movement since 1991. Currently a Pilates and Yoga instructor, Dyan enjoys helping people restore their natural pain free alignment through a combination of Pilates and Yoga.

Dyan has extensive certifications including: STOTT Pilates Mat and Reformer, Anusara Yoga, Kripalu Yoga, ACSM-Health Fitness Instructor, AFAA Group Exercise Instructor, ACE Personal Trainer, Spinning/Cycling Instructor

 

 

 

Peter

 

Peter Gibbs discovered Pilates in 2000 while seeking solutions to chronic back pain. Pilates made a profound difference. He was so impressed by the benefits for himself and others whom he observed that he and his wife Lisa purchased BodyMind Balance Pilates Studio in 2005. Peter has taken training in both Stott Pilates and Peak Pilates systems and has an appreciation for the benefits of this mind body approach to fitness for people of all ages and fitness levels.

 

 

 

 

Teresa

 

Teresa Palenchar has more than 15 years health and fitness experience as fitness program director, manager, instructor, coach and personal trainer. She enthusiastically approaches wellness with the perspective that body and mind function as an integrated whole. She believes appropriate and enjoyable exercise opportunities await each individual. Teresa’s classes are known for being playful, challenging, and rejuvenating - they are never boring!

Teresa is a registered yoga instructor (RYT 200) with the Yoga Alliance, and she holds certifications as an ACE personal trainer, AFFA group exercise instructor, Stott Pilates instructor, and Johnny G spinning instructor. She has a Bachelor’s degree from The College of New Jersey and in 2005 she began study at Simmons College for her Masters Degree in Social Work (graduating May, 2008).

In addition to Pilates, Teresa also teaches gentle yoga and Hatha yoga at BodyMind Balance and at the Northboro Recreation Department. Shealso teaches spinning at Resolutions Personal Training Studio in Northboro
